Upload the Favicon via FTP
Steps:
Create your favicon. Favicon must have a square aspect ratio (1:1), with a minimum size of 8x8 pixels. It's recommended to use a favicon that’s at least 48x48 pixels or larger. Common formats include .ico or .png.
You can upload the favicon directly to the root directory of your website using an FTP client like FileZilla.
Connect to your server with FTP credentials and place your favicon file (e.g., favicon.png or favicon.ico) in the root (/).
After uploading the favicon, clear your browser’s cache or refresh the page to see the changes. The favicon should appear automatically. If it doesn’t appear, please contact our support team by opening a support ticket, and we’ll assist with linking the favicon correctly in the templates.
Google Search Favicon Guidelines
To ensure your favicon appears in Google Search results, follow these Google guidelines:
Square Aspect Ratio: Your favicon must have a 1:1 aspect ratio, with a minimum size of 8x8 pixels. For optimal results, we recommend using a size larger than 48x48 pixels.
Single Favicon Per Site: Google supports only one favicon per hostname (e.g., example.com or subdomain.example.com), but not for subdirectories (e.g., example.com/sub-site).
Crawlability: Make sure that both your favicon file and homepage are accessible to Googlebot-Image and Googlebot for crawling.
