Special values in rule-based carousels

In this feature, you can: 

• Use special values in the rule-based carousels

To use special values, do the following: 

1. Login to your WebStore Manager.
2. Go to Design & Content > Carousel Builder.
3. Create or edit a pre-existing menu.
4. Select populated by rule.

Special values in rule-based carousels

• When you are populating a rule-base carousel the Value input will change when you select: Item Department, Item Category, Item Brand or Item Theme from the Field menu.
• At the bottom of the Value menu, the value From this department, From this category, From this brand and From this theme. 
• These are special values that need to be used carefully.

Example use of: from this department

• If you include this rule in a carousel ruleset, it will restrict this carousel to only including products from the current department if the carousel is located on a department, category or product page.
• Outside these pages, the rule will be ignored as the carousel won’t know which department to pick.

Example use of: from this brand

• If you include this rule in a carousel rule set it will restrict this carousel to displaying products that match the current product brand name.
• This restriction only works on product pages. 
• Off product pages, this rule is ignored.
